It will take six weeks to restart economy says FG

The federal government has stated that restarting the economy might take about six weeks which would be in intermittent phases of 2 weeks. Speaking on the president's directive to ease the prolonged lockdown in Lagos, FCT and ogun states respectively the chairman of the COVID 19 task force and secretary to the federal gorvernment boss mustapha said the federal gorverent would gradually ease the lockdown in the aforementioned states partially in adherence to the presidents order. He also reiterated that  those affected institutions would be required to maintain certain health standards. According to him  "The first strategy Is designed to reduce the pain of socio-economic disruptions while strengthening public health response to ultimately revive the economy and provide succor to the poor and vulnerable" He said businesses must also make arrangements for physical distancing on their premises and provide thermometers for temperature checks.  Gatherings of more th...

I was nearly aborted, says BB Naija winner

In an exclusive interview with Ike, her partner ex bbnaija housemate and winner mercy eke has recalled nostalgic childhood memories.  According to her, she was nearly aborted by her mother as a child due to immense pressure from her relatives. Apparently after having so many kids she  had "accidentally" conceived mercy. In a splurge of emotions she explained that one of her mother'srelatives had come up to her mom on a certain day and demanded " what are you still carrying that child for, don't u think it's high time u aborted it" she also recalls that after this her mum tried fruitlessly to abort her by sometimes intentionally jumping down from a tree while on the farm. After this touching revelation by her mum, She said she had vowed to be successful in life no matter what it demanded. Mercy eke emerged the first female winner of  the reality t.v show big brother naija after a decade of its existence.

Hold Government responsible, says nollywood actor.

Nollywood actor Alex ekubo has urged Nigerians to hold the FG accountable not, him. In an exclusive live interview on Instagram, Nigerian actor Alex ekubo has expressed his disappointment and pains at the biting effect of the corona virus pandemic. According to him, every one is going through hardship and as such he could only do his bit to support. "Listen I'd say this again I cannot kill myself for anybody or anything I can only do my best. The government should be held accountable for what is currently bedeviling Nigerians not entertainers. It is their duty to manage this crisis" Since the inception of this pandemic, Nigerian entertainers have been enjoined to send relief packages accross to vulnerable citizens. However it is inevitably doubtful how far the sustenance can continue without the ease in the lockdown.
