It will take six weeks to restart economy says FG
The federal government has stated that restarting the economy might take about six weeks which would be in intermittent phases of 2 weeks.
Speaking on the president's directive to ease the prolonged lockdown in Lagos, FCT and ogun states respectively the chairman of the COVID 19 task force and secretary to the federal gorvernment boss mustapha said the federal gorverent would gradually ease the lockdown in the aforementioned states partially in adherence to the presidents order. He also reiterated that those affected institutions would be required to maintain certain health standards.
According to him
"The first strategy Is designed to reduce the pain of socio-economic disruptions while strengthening public health response to ultimately revive the economy and provide succor to the poor and vulnerable"
He said businesses must also make arrangements for physical distancing on their premises and provide thermometers for temperature checks.
Gatherings of more than 20 people outside the workplace are also prohibited according to mustapha.
The SGF encouraged state governments to provide leadership in the enforcement of the new measures by partnering with relevant associations.
He further stated that the easing of restriction and introduction of revised measures do not amount to the end of the battle against COVID 19.
"Indeed it signifies the need for more vigilance stringent compliance, so that we are not lured into complacency capable of diminishing the progress we made so far.
